How to play

1. Type the words in the strip under the road. Every right key is a step forward.
2. Stop typing and you stop running. They never stop.
3. A wrong key makes you stumble and they gain a step. You don't need Backspace. Just hit the right key.
4. Reach the police barricade before they reach you.

Last Stand

1. You hold the barricade. Zombies walk in from the right with a letter, and later a word, over their heads.
2. Type it all and you shoot. Your first key picks the nearest zombie whose word starts with it; you stay on that one until it is done. Backspace lets go.
3. Every wrong key spurs them on: all of them lurch forward for a moment, and mistakes in a row add up.
4. Three bites and they are through. Clear every zombie to hold the line.
5. The Hold Out never ends: pick letters, words or short sentences, and see how many waves you last.

Typing without looking

1. Left fingers rest on A S D F, right fingers on J K L ;, thumbs on the space bar. F and J have little bumps so you can find them blind.
2. Each finger owns a column of keys. The colors on the screen keyboard show whose job each key is.
3. Reach for a key, press it, come home. Keep your eyes on the words, not your hands.
4. Slow and right beats fast and wrong. Speed comes on its own once your fingers trust the way.

The screen keyboard fades while you type well and comes back when you slip, so you can lean on it less and less. You can change that, and how fast the horde moves, in Settings.
