Querykeep version 0.1
Querykeep opens: a side-scrolling kingdom builder with SQL lessons on lecterns, following the SQLZoo tutorial across three islands.
Additions
- Kingdom building in side view: drop coins to hire villagers, hand out tools, raise walls and towers, and hold out against the Greed each night.
- 11 tomes and 126 questions following the SQLZoo tutorial:
- The Fields: SELECT basics, SELECT names, SELECT from world
- The Old Woods: SELECT from nobel, SELECT within SELECT, SUM and COUNT
- The Drowned Marsh: JOIN, More JOIN, Using NULL, Self join, Window functions
- Real data for the world table (195 countries) and the nobel table (winners from 1901 to 2024). The other tables are set in the kingdom: tourney bouts, manor players, cart routes, a council poll and the Greed tally.
- Right answers bring coins falling out of the sky.
- Wrong answers tell you why: row counts, a missing or extra row, column order, ORDER BY, or the error in plain words.
- The Watch: at night, ring the bell by the fire to query a live table of the Greed. Mark up to 5 and your archers aim for them first with double damage. 3 orders a night.
- The boat to the next island waits until the island's questions are answered. Progress counts across reigns.
- Queries run on SQLite right in the page. LEFT, RIGHT and ROUND to negative places work the way SQLZoo expects.
- A runaway query is stopped after a few seconds so the game never freezes.
